Seeing Series, Seek While He is Near, post 5

Isaiah 55:6
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found,  call ye upon him while he is near:
Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God,  thou shalt find him,  if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

This post is a continuation of a thought in the second post.  Plain and to the point, some of you will stop reading this post with my next sentence.

The Lord only loves those that are of the Messiah.

In Leviticus 20, we read that He will turn His face against the man doing wrong, even the ones who ignore the wrong doer, no matter how righteous they think they are.  Then in Hosea, Chapter 9, it is specifically said “for there I hated them”.

Now I want you to stop here for a second, and hunt a pen or pencil.  The next few sentences are an exercise in thought, and I want you to write down the first things you think after each question.  These are the same questions from the second post.

So, if you were to sit down and make a list of the reasons you should be in heaven what would they be?  Start with the first things that popped into your mind as you read the sentence.  “I should be accepted into heaven because …”

Next, if we are seeing things in the Lord’s viewpoint, what will we see of ourselves?  Write down your answer.  Take all the time and words you need.  For this one, put yourself in the LORD’s eyes.  “The Lord sees me as …”

Hang on to your notes until the end of the post.  Now to the meat of the post.

As a point of ‘reason’ we say, “God is Love” and “God is Good”.  Some teach falsely that He cannot hate.  But how can Love accept Hate?  When we talk about something like ‘food’, we say we have a love/hate attitude to it.  Meaning we love to eat food, but we don’t like what it does to our body when we eat more than we should.  So, picture the Lord sitting on his throne.  Heaven can only accept the pure.  Since only the pure can be there, and since man sinned, there is only one way to enter there.  It is to be cleansed by the Lamb’s blood.   Yes, the I AM loves us, but just because He loves us does not mean we are meant for Heaven.

You have seen the movie about all dogs going to heaven, right?  That is just a false teaching.  It is a comfort movie for children.  But those children that watch it are also thinking that all people go to heaven.  Thus, if you did not explain to your child that the movie is just that, and not everyone can go to Heaven, then you also instructed your child wrong.  This movie idea is (and can be) the start of false teaching to little one’s minds.  [Please think before you take your child to the movies and use each one as a teaching moment.]

Let us look at some verses:

Psalms 5:5
The foolish shall not stand in thy sight:  thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Leviticus 20:23
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation,  which I cast out before you:  for they committed all these things,  and therefore I abhorred them.

Hosea 9:15
All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: …

Hosea 5:6
They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD;  but they shall not find him;  he hath withdrawn himself from them.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:  because thou hast rejected knowledge,  I will also reject thee,  that thou shalt be no priest to me:  seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God,  I will also forget thy children.

Just from those verses we see that the Lord will withdraw from any that are not of Him.  That is why Isaiah 55: 6  is so important to us.  “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near”.   But how does one go about seeking the LORD?  First you must search Him out in the Scriptures.  Honestly, I think the Old Testament is so much in need for today’s world.  We do not read enough of it and we do not study it in relation to the New Testament.  We can not draw close to Him by just showing up in church, pasting some meme on our social media, or by wearing a tee shirt.  We need to immerse ourselves in the WORD.  Have you wondered why the WORD does not tell us to read?   The temple priest kept the Scriptures and Law in a special place.  They taught from it and used oral teachings.  They taught their history, in a truthful fashion.  Not how we teach our children our history.  There is no truth to/in how history is taught today.  Our children are currently taught with ideology, not fact.  We are so privileged to have the Scriptures and Covenants printed, and we are so privileged to be able to purchase a copy anywhere.   So why do we not take advantage of those?  Because we are of the world and we do not want to read the truths?  We do not want to read the iniquities that the WORD lists as reasons the LORD will turn His face from us and say ‘depart from Me.’

Deuteronomy 18:19
And it shall come to pass,  that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name,  I will require it of him.

Acts 3
22   For Moses truly said unto the fathers,  A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you …
23And it shall come to pass,  that every soul,  which will not hear that prophet,  shall be destroyed from among the people.
24Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, … have likewise foretold of these days.
25  Ye are the children of the prophets, …
26   Unto you first God,  having raised up his Son Jesus,  sent him to bless you,  in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Take the verse in Deuteronomy 18:19, think about the words, “my words which he shall speak”.  This verse is warning us; the ‘my’ is the LORD’s and the ‘he’ is Jesus.  There is not a book in the Scriptures that does not talk about the coming of the Messiah and of the Second Coming.  Look at Acts 3:23, again, He is warning us.

Let us remember that the Lord does ‘hate’.  Just reading in Hosea reinforces that.  So, if you tell yourself that God is Love and he will always forgive you, be forewarned!  If you are counting on that, and not seeking to know and see Him, then you might be grieved when He returns.  Yes, God is good, but man are sinners.  Man is full of bad, and if the un-pure cannot attain heaven, then review your lists you made at the beginning of the post.  Take those answers and see if you have truly been seeking the LORD’s face.

Also, remember that in the Old Testament, they were warned that they only wanted to hear what lifted them up, not what they were doing wrong.

Isaiah 30
9  That this is a rebellious people,  lying children,  children that will not hear the law of the LORD :
10  Which say to the seers,  See not;  and to the prophets,  Prophesy not unto us right things,  speak unto us smooth things,  prophesy deceits:
11   Get you out of the way,  turn aside out of the path,  cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us,
12   Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel,  Because ye despise this word,  and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
13   Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall,  swelling out in a high wall,  whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

They paid dearly for their inability to seek the truth in their own lives.  Are you seeking truth or are you only wanting what pleases you and the world?

Also, remember that the evil one can quote Scriptures, even do good works.  He can seem like any human, but he is a deceiver, he deceives himself and man.  If your list touted things like: I give to the poor, I know my Bible, I go to church; the evil one can also say that.   If being ‘good’ was the way to heaven, why did Jesus answer, “there is none good but one, that is, God”  [ Mark 10:18]  and  “none is good, save one, that is, God”. [Luke 18:19 ]

Matthew 7:
22  Many will say to me in that day,  Lord, Lord,  have we not prophesied in thy name?  and in thy name have cast out devils?   And in thy name done many wonderful works?
23    And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you:  depart from me,  ye that work iniquity.

A few months ago, I heard a ‘preacher’ say to the hundreds in his congregation that God loves us and it is inconceivable to think anyone would go to hell.  Then he said something more shocking: that everyone gets to go to heaven, we will just have different crowns and be rewarded differently.  He even said the ones that turned from God and served other gods will be there because their faith had them believing in a higher being.  Personally, I don’t think I will see that preacher in heaven.  When I heard that part of his sermon, I shut him down.  What he said bothered me so much that I could not sleep.  First, I prayed for those souls he was leading falsely and then I typed a rebuttal.  That rebuttal is appropriate here:

Me:  Ignorance begets ignorance; knowledge begets knowledge; not studying the Scripture personally begets ignorance; studying begets the yearning to see His face

Not understanding the Scriptures does not lead to salvation.  Understanding Scriptures opens one to knowledge and salvation.  satan uses our ignorance of the Scriptures to trick us into believing that sooo little is needed for salvation.  We hear all the time that the Lord is love.  We do not hear He is a jealous Lord, or that we are to follow His lead, or that He will turn His face from us.  Just that comment about ‘Love’.  The Lord uses our ignorance as a testing.  He uses the lack of teaching about the different doctrines, that do not follow His teachings, as a snare to see if we will seek out His truth.  For our Lord teaches with parables not opinions.

Another note on seeking His face is that we are to do His wants, and we should hate His hates.  We have heard, “when in Rome, do as the Romans”.    One word—Wrong!  Review Leviticus 20:23.  That saying means: ‘when in the world do as the world does’! Accepting iniquities in our home churches is doing the same as “do as the Romans” – – it is taking part in the immorality.   If we are seeking to understand what iniquities the I AM hates, we cannot follow man’s lead, we must turn and seek our answers in the Scriptures.

I think it is again right to share Matthew 7:

Matthew 7:
22   Many will say to me in that day,  Lord, Lord,  have we not prophesied in thy name?  and in thy name have cast out devils?   And in thy name done many wonderful works?
23    And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you:  depart from me,  ye that work iniquity.
