Christmas Blogmas, Day 10, Find Joy

When I think of the Lord’s return, I am of two mind sets.  One says “get out of Dodge”, the other says “would it not be wonderful to stand on this earth and gaze on him as he comes to rule”?

I know the horrors the Bible talks about.  Persecution, famine, every trials Christians will face.  You might ask who in their right mind would want to hang around for that?  Then you might wonder if you, or I, would be strong enough not to give into the beast just to feed our family.  How quickly would our voice be shut down, would we be beheaded before Christ sits on the cloud?

As I look at how ungodly our world is, a part of my heart stays sad.  But as I read my Book, I am reminded how many times the children of Israel partook of evil.  How many times the Lord heard them and restore them.  How many times He gave them promises after promises just to have them throw it back into His face.  Heck, the children of Israel are not the only ones to do such.  Wake up Christian, we do it too!

So, what is the promise for us, today?  His return!  Since this is the season of His birth, we tend to put His next return in a closet and turn the light off.  We do this out of fear and shame.  We do this because we do not live the birth.  Have you noticed how stressed in general people are at this season?  We are not happy.  Those of us who love this season are being torn down in our own homes by the lack of joy the family members want to share.  Oh, be assured they want you to put up a tree, but don’t ask them to help.  Sure they want gifts bought, but they have more important things in their life than trudging throughout stores looking for just the right item.

So, if and when, you are being treated as such, and you think you have  lost your joy of the season.  Walk to your closet and turn your light on.  Let the joy, of our next promise to be fulfilled, shine in your heart.  Sit in that closet floor and open your Book; and let the words of the Lord feed your spirit.  Ask the Holy Ghost to speak comfort.

Mark 13:26

‟And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.”

Luke 21:14

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

(15)  For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

(28)    And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
