I notice a lot of bloggers are posting, for the Blogmas, about books. I have to ask who has time? Between the tree, house cleaning, trying to shop, pay bills, oh you know – general life but added activities, – I don’t have time to just sit and read. Imagine if I had a job.
So, here is my book share: It is the book of Christmas. It explains Christmas quiet well. It gives me plenty of pleasure while I study it for hours on end. It is the only reading I have time for, besides keeping up on blogs. It is my large print Bible. I am trying to do some more recent study on the Christmas story. It has been years since I truly visited the story. I am hopping around the verses and chapters. Studying how each book is different in the retelling. Even hopping into the Old Testament to reaffirm the meanings of words.
When I study something I keep notes, just like in school. I don’t know if I will post anything about what I am learning and praying over, but I am reading. So, I highly recommend you find time to check out the first four books in the New Testament. Use as old of a version of the King James Bible as you can find. For some reason all the “thee” and “thou’s” etc seems so much more romantic and fitting for the season.
Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Luke 1:26
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
