Ⅰ Kings 11:11

‟Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant”

Let’s put a little humor here, please.  As I was reading this and pondering the last several posts I was thinking: “enough with you Jews!  Haven’t you learned anything?  I mean the Lord has bent over backward for you and how do you repay him?  By putting idols in your temple?  Not your temple but the Lord’s.”  Then I thought, “oh, you sinner, you do not have much room to talk, do you?”

Yes, that was the thought that went through my brain.  And after my prayer for guidance I felt I should stick to this theme.   How many times does the Lord have to chastise us before He gives up on us?  Not by keeping us from his kingdom, but by hearing our prayers.  Yes, the Lord will forgive us many times, but why?  If you had a friend that you caused drama with, how many times should they forgive you?  Ask yourself how many times you would forgive someone.  For family you might tend to keep forgiving but you will reach a limit.  So, if you yourself have a limit, why should God not be afforded that privilege?

How does the Lord warn us?  How does He let us know his disfavor?  Does it really matter?  All that matters is we have warnings.  We have a way to be taught.  We can read, so we should read the Bible.  It is filled with ‘do this’ and ‘do not do that’.  Sadly, we seem to never care what is right and wrong.  We are living in a time of the world.  We try to make our sins a part of the gene issue.  Yep, the current excuse is ‘we are born this way’.  Each of us were born, yep.  But each of us are born as individuals that train our own mind, it is not a gene that makes our decisions for us.  We take what we see, hear, read, and make our own decisions.  We are not born this way.  Yes, we might be born looking a certain way, (height, hair color, eyes, etc.)  but our actions are not born into us.   If that were the case, we would be robots.

Ⅰ Kings 11:11

‟Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant”

Therefore, what does the verse say?  It says that you chose to break the covenants, statutes, and not walk with Jesus.  It also warns you that if  – – you walk in the world then don’t be surprised if and when the LORD will rend something from you and give it to another.

Again, let us look at Solomon, he was what I call a ‘man whore’.  He loved women more than he loved the LORD.  What happened to Solomon’s judgment by giving into his lusts?  His judgement failed him.  He gave into his sin.  He listened to the harbormasters of his sin.  Then like anyone who might go to bars to just listen to the music, they start drinking and then may become enslaved by the drink, Solomon did the same.  This is an example of a person becoming the type of person they ‘hang-out’ with.  Familiarity becomes habit.  Because he could not leave women alone, he became enslaved by their sins and beliefs.  He started worshiping their false gods.

So, the message to the Christian of today is to stay out of the world.  Keep yourself separate as much as you can from fornicators, idolaters, harlots, partiers, users of foul language, and any of vile affections.  Do not think that those things did not happen in the time of the Bible.  Do not think that these are just new to our age.  If the Bible mentions sins one time, that is all it should take for a Christian to know not to partake.  Keep your body, mind, home, and friends pure in the eyes of God.   [Do not let those that partake of the sins into your life or home.  This has been pressed  unto my heart the entire time I have worked on this post.  Even if you are forced to work with these people you need not invite them to visit under your roof.  Yes, even if they are family.  If you have small ones in the home you are allowing the condoning into your children’s hearts and minds.]     Let the Spirit guide you.  Listen to the tiniest voice of doubt, let the Spirit speak to you.  Pray, each day and night, that the Spirit guide you in all you do.  Think about the loss you will feel if the Lord rends his favor from you.

The whole chapter one of Romans speaks about this rendering that God will do.  Romans uses the word“gave them up to”  whatever their sin was.

Romans 1:24

‟Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: …  26  For this cause God gave them up unto the vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: … 29   Being filled with all unrighteousness,  fornication, wickedness …  32   Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
